Anna_JeffersonAnna is the founder and Co-Director of Broken Leg Theatre and Deputy Director for New Writing South. Anna studied Theatre and Visual Practice at Brighton University in Brighton, graduating in 2001, and went on to do a post graduate in journalism. Anna has written and directed four plays since 2004. She established her first theatre company, Park Road Productions, in 2004 where she wrote, directed and toured two productions. She has written for national websites and publications. Anna co-founded Broken Leg Theatre in March 2008, where she wrote and directed their debut play, Eyes Down, Pens Ready, and co-wrote and directed My Second Life. Anna has run script writing workshops with 7- 16 year olds with Little Green Pig, a creative writing organisation; she also sits on their Board.

Joe Bateman, photo by Ted DavisJoe began his career as a stage manager for music festivals. After graduating drama school (as an actor) he progressed to theatre projects with the Kennedy Arts Centre, Washington DC and with Arts Scape and the Baxter Theatre, Cape Town.

He joined City Screen in 1997 transferring to Curzon Cinemas in 1999 developing the role of Head of Special Programming and Private Events. In 2004 Joe moved to The Hospital Club, Covent Garden, responsible for developing the film and event programme, settling at Rushes Soho Shorts in 2007.

He has over 20 years experience in film, festivals and programming. And has been fortunate enough to have watched many thousands of short films, adjudicating on many panels for film festivals, funding bodies and creative initiatives.

MAKELIGHT PRODUCTIONS, founded in 2009 by Andromeda Godfrey and Diana Juhr De Benedetti, has produced three short films, Out of OrderA Stolen Scene of Elizabethan Proportions (Special Jury Mention, Film 4 Scene Stealer Competition) and Dream Date (50 Kisses Competition).


Diana is an experienced photographer, teacher, editor and translator. Her lifetime love of cinema inspired her to start screenwriting and filmmaking.



Andromeda has worked extensively in theatre and film as an actress. She has made numerous short films and completed her first feature film, Lost Diagnosis in 2011.

Current feature projects being developed include:

Five Ways to Eden, a spy thriller about a young Jewish cryptographer who unravels the threads of her own heritage and exposes the love of her life

A Weekend with Erica comedy drama about a dysfunctional father who meets his grown up daughter for the very first time.
